About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to vulnerable young people and their families and carers. The RN - Youth Health will work with young people aged 12 – 24 years to deliver assessment, education, referral and primary health sessions working from Wyong Central Community Health Centre and outreaching into schools and other community settings as required. You will provide general nursing services for young people including vaccination, wound care, preventative health care, sexual health services, treatment planning etc within scope of practice. You will support our CMO clinic and liaise with healthcare providers including GPs, pathology services, specialist medical practitioners etc.
About you
You will enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team collaborating with key internal and external providers to ensure no wrong door entry for vulnerable young people into health care. You will have a passion for working with vulnerable young people in a trauma informed model. You will be an Authorised Nurse Immuniser (ANI), or willing to complete a recognised immunisation course to become an ANI as soon as possible.
About working in Youth Health on the Central Coast
Youth Health has undergone a service review and is repositioning itself to plan and deliver holistic health care that is responsive to the needs of vulnerable young people. Our service priorities are aligned with the , as well as the Central Coast Local Health District annual priorities.
This position is full time, office hours, Monday – Friday based at Wyong Central Community Health Centre. Job share will be considered (3 days or 2 days).
