This is a part-time position offering 16 hours per week. Commencing in March, you will proactively case manage individual workplace rehabilitation programs for ill and injured staff to ensure safe, timely and durable Return to Work.
This role offers flexible work hours over a 4 day week with opportunity to Work school hours in a hybrid environment to suit your schedule.

About the role

The Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator manages individual workplace rehabilitation programs for ill and injured employees using a proactive case management approach to facilitate a safe, timely and durable Return to Work.

Reporting to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you will undertake efficient claims and injury case management of employees with workers compensation injuries to ensure effective injury management and legislative compliance. Essential to your role is the ability to Work simultaneously with relevant stakeholders including injured employee, treating health professionals, WorkCover and SCCQ Managers to achieve desired Return to Work outcomes. 

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of a supportive People and Culture Team and facilitate efficient procedures and best practices to support effective Return to Work for our valued employees.

  What are the key responsibilities? 

  • Prompt development of quality Rehabilitation and Return to Work plans in consultation with key stakeholders (including treating practitioners) 
  • Ensure set timeframes and compliance measures are adhered to in line with all legislative and SCCQ policies and procedures
  • Provide input into development of procedures and practices that support proactive and effective Return to Work
  • Maintain case files and caseload statistics to ensure appropriate and accurate records and comply with confidentiality and privacy requirements in accordance with legislation and SCCQ policy
  • Accurately complete administrative tasks associated with injury management and workers compensation including notification of compensation payments to ensure timely reimbursements
    from insurer
  What you will bring to the role? 
  • Previous experience in Claims and Injury Management associated with physical and psychological injuries/illness
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation in QLD and appropriate QLD Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator training
  • Experience liaising and partnering with WorkCover QLD
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Developed time management skills with the ability to Work autonomously in coordination with relevant stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving, safety decision making, critical thinking
  • Work experience in the aged care, disability or health sectors and knowledge of accreditation principles and aged care standards is desirable
