Life in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands

The Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands is located in the far north-western region of South Australia. It covers approximately 103,000 sq km with a population of approximately 3,000 Anangu people. The region is freehold land controlled by the Anangu people. This is a stunning area filled with natural beauty, and our communities have everything you need with no frills. You'll have access to an IGA, schools, arts centres, and potentially even a pool!

Moving to this naturally beautiful region offers people the chance to see and experience more of the true Australian outback than most ever will, all while getting paid!

About the Opportunities

A fantastic opportunity now exists for a full-time Mental Health Nurse (Remote Area) to join our team. Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you'll be providing Mental Health intervention, consultancy and support to patients diagnosed with a mental illness on the Anangu Pitjantjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.

There is a strong preference for the position to be based on the APY Lands, however the option to be based in Alice Springs with regular travel to the APY lands is negotiable.

In this hands-on role you will provide assessment and crisis intervention services, as well as treatment and case management in consultation with Nganampa Health Council Medical Officers and consultant psychiatrists. A large portion of this work will be clinical, as such you will be confident in putting your advanced skills into action on a regular basis.
