Volunteer Research Associate - Epilepsy Research (Bioinformatics Focus)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled individual to join our innovative research team as a Volunteer Research Associate, specializing in epilepsy research with a focus on bioinformatics. This unique opportunity allows the successful candidate to contribute to groundbreaking research initiatives aimed at unraveling the intricate molecular aspects of epilepsy.

Responsibilities:

  1. Bioinformatics Analysis: Utilize advanced bioinformatics tools and methodologies to analyze high-throughput genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data related to epilepsy research.
  2. Data Integration: Work on integrating diverse datasets, including genomics, clinical, and imaging data, to gain a comprehensive understanding of epilepsy-related mechanisms.
  3. Algorithm Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of novel algorithms for the analysis and interpretation of complex biological data sets.
  4. Collaborative Research: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of scientists, clinicians, and researchers to leverage expertise in bioinformatics for epilepsy research projects.
  5. Results Interpretation: Assist in interpreting bioinformatics results, drawing meaningful conclusions, and communicating findings to the research team.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • Strong academic background with a focus on bioinformatics and epilepsy research.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or others relevant to bioinformatics.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases for genomic and functional analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods for data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
