We have an exciting position available for an experienced Research & Finance Lead to join WASM: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering working with the School researchers and the Curtin Corrosion Centre to support the ongoing activity within this area.

Your new role
This position provides research and finance support, guidance, and subject matter advice to the Western Australia School of Mines; Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering, Curtin Corrosion Centre (CCC) and the Curtin Institute for Energy Transition (CIET) research-active academic staff and individuals involved in research-based activities for the school.
In this role, you are expected to undertake a range of complex administrative functions which support the successful execution of research projects as well as other operational activities across the school. Tasks may include data management, budgets, and expenditure, and working with researchers to support contract delivery.
As the Research and Finance Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinate administrative tasks for research projects in the School.
- Compile and manage the School Research Budget, aiding in financial reporting and analytics.
- Monitor project budgets, offering financial guidance to academic leads.
- Handle financial transactions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reimbursements.
- Assist in staff recruitment, onboarding, and support for research activities.
- Offer guidance on research project lifecycles, from conception to closure.
- Provide consultancy on the University's research and financial processes to academic staff.
- Support academic staff in project reporting and acquittals.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with relevant experience; or a combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Demonstrated financial management, reporting and monitoring skill.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability analyse and present data.
- Proficiency in using computer applications and relevant digital technologies.
