This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 45.60 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE).

Position Profile: The Child and Adolescent Health Service are seeking a suitably experienced person to join our Research team as a Research Governance Coordinator.

The successful candidate will facilitate the governance of research in accordance with the WA Health Research Governance Policy and Procedures. This relates both to the initiation and the monitoring of research. You will liaise with researchers, Human Research Ethics Committees, Trial Sponsors, WA Department of Health Legal & Legislative Services and hospital business managers regarding research submissions. 

Reporting to the Research Ethics & Governance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with trial sponsors regarding the requirements of the contracts, indemnification, insurance and other issues specific to CAHS sites.
  • Undertaking costing exercises and reviewing the financial agreements for research at CAHS sites.
  • Evaluating and negotiating annual service agreements for the conduct of clinical trials/ research with researchers and trial sponsors and funding agencies.
  • Reviewing Site Specific Assessment Forms and Site Access Request Forms and making recommendations to the Executive Delegated Authority regarding the conduct of each research study at CAHS sites.
  • Assisting the Director of Research in the education, training and dissemination of appropriate Research Governance information to Investigators and research personnel.

CAHS is made up four service areas: Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH). Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
