The Research Nurse (Clinical Trials) is a clinical position and is one of the key roles in any clinical trial. The Research Nurse (Clinical Trials) will provide care for patients and carry out procedures as defined in the study protocols, And undertake clinical tasks related to their nursing experience such as providing clinical advice to patients and performing clinical tasks.
The Research Nurse (Clinical Trials) will work with other members of the Clinical Trials Team, Research Department and wider organisation to ensure that Clinical Trials and related studies at South West Healthcare are conducted to the highest possible standards, and in compliance with the Therapeutic Goods Administrations (TGA) ICH Guideline for Good Clinical Practice, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research 2007 (updated 2018), the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework and all applicable state and federal legislation.
This part time position is 56 hours per fortnight and is available until August 2027.
What you bring
- Current registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria, with a minimum of 3 years post graduate nursing experience, or relevant experience demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the job and clinical setting.
- Ability to coordinate a trial and participate in patient recruitment, adverse event reporting (as required) and the provision of education to other team members, patients and families related to a specific protocol or program.
- Demonstrated excellent team working skills with ability to work with clinical trial team members, clinicians and external stakeholders using own initiative to manage workloads and prioritise competing deadlines.
- Comprehensive IT skills and the ability to track study progress in databases and to liaise with sponsors regarding data queries
- Research experience including working knowledge of Australian statutory and regulatory requirements including - TGA ICH GCP Guidelines, NHMRC National Statement and the Privacy Act.
- Experience in research or Clinical Trials and/or experience in Oncology/Haematology would be an advantage.
