We are seeking an experienced part-time (40 hours per fortnight) Research Nurse to join our dynamic and collaborative urology team. Applicants with advanced nursing knowledge and skills related to care of patients with urological conditions and experience in research are encouraged to apply.
The multi-disciplinary Urology Unit provides comprehensive treatment, surgical intervention and management of patients with urological conditions. The Unit works in partnership with various treating teams across clinical settings, maintains links with professional bodies and participates in research studies to contribute to building evidence that informs best practice and optimal treatment.
The Urology Nursing team works collaboratively in the specialist clinics and day admission environments with a particular emphasis on continuity of care, promoting recovery, patient self-management and the prevention of recurrence of acute illness. The Nursing Team also supports the Unit's research agenda and contributes to advanced practice nursing development in Western Urology Head of Unit Health and across the discipline.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Advanced knowledge and experience caring for patients with urological conditions
- Experience in coordination of clinical trials and/or an understanding of research
- Knowledge of the clinical trials and research frame work in Australia and internationally
- Excellent communication, collaboration and time management skills
This role will contribute to the University of Melbourne's partnership with international genomics company Illumina. The University has entered a long-term strategic partnership with Illumina, a global leader in genomics technology, to jointly foster the development of world-leading genomics, research and innovation activities and to accelerate the translation of these innovations through to adoption in the healthcare system. Together, Illumina and the University have established The Advanced Genomics Collaboration (TAGC), a Victorian Government funded initiative which aims to support a pipeline of commercially focused genomics innovation projects to deliver a cluster of new high growth, high-tech start-ups within the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct.
