Join us in our dining room, sip a negroni on the bar stools or watch Errol Street from our al fresco dining spot. Sosta's menu is a testament to Co-Owner and Head Chef Alex Tintori's passion for preserving the culinary traditions of Italy, embracing the bounty of Australia's diverse landscape and creating technical flavoursome masterpieces.
The venue is currently open Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30pm, as well as a lunch service on Friday from midday to 3pm.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a talented and experienced hospitality professional. Sosta Ristorante is an extremely well-regarded, warm and friendly venue in North Melbourne that requires a person with knowledge and passion for the industry. The ideal candidate will lead from the front and take pride in training their team in order to maximise customer satisfaction. We are a small team environment therefore communication and great interpersonal skills will be key to succeeding in this role.
*This will also suit a candidate seeking a promotion opportunity from Assistant Manager level.
Tasks and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Self-motivated and positive attitude.
- Previous experience within a similar role or ready to step up!
- A passion for service excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
- Ability to create and follow processes and structure, including restaurant manuals and SOP’s.
- Full roster management for front of house.
- Take full ownership of recruitment for the floor.
- Daily reporting to management is required.
- Administration and venue inbox management required.
- Stock control and beverage ordering required.
- Share and review all customer feedback in order to improve.
- Proficient in working with Ordermate and Now Book It, is desired but not essential.
- Committed to regularly training and up-skilling staff.
- Committed to retaining staff and identifying future leaders.
- Consistent in conducting daily briefings and regular staff and management meetings.
- Daily communication and professional relationship with the in-venue Co-owner and Head Chef are extremely important.
- Consistent in the communication of all planned events, promotions, functions and seasonal menus.
- Committed to understanding the importance of communication to both Venue Owners
- Take pride in the work environment and team.
