The South Australian Museum Foundation (Foundation) is currently seeking an enthusiastic Retail Operations Assistant Manager (General Retail Industry Award, Level 4) to join the team.
This part-time position assists with the operational and commercial performance of the Museum Shop and helps to provide a unique retail experience with outstanding customer service.
You need to have strong interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Retail Operations team and wider Museum staff. The Retail Operations Assistant Manager needs to be able to remain calm and work well under pressure while providing an exemplary visitor experience.
With experience in a similar retail environment, preferably a cultural institution or visitor attraction, you will be solutions-focussed with excellent organisation and time management skills. The Foundation is looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys interacting with people, is reliable and trustworthy, has a can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
To be successful in this role you will also have:
- an understanding of the online retail sales environment, preferably Shopify
- a willingness to learn and support the business objectives of the Museum Shop
- outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- excellent problem-solving capabilities
- the ability to work with a high degree of accountability
- working knowledge of computer-based retail & accounting systems, preferably Retail Express & Xero
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:
- supervising the Retail Operations staff and ensuring exemplary service
- assisting with stock ordering
- assisting in the coordination of the online retail sales site
- assisting with financial management including record keeping, invoicing, end of month accounting and reporting
- staff rostering and timesheet management
This position is a part-time contract for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will be available for an immediate start.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Police Check.
