Evolve Environmental Solutions are a revegetation and environmental regeneration company specialising in Natural Areas restoration. We have a dynamic team who are dedicated to the conservation of our Natural Areas.
We are currently seeking Natural Areas Team Leader for our Brisbane Crew
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and restoring our natural environment. As a Team Leader you will be responsible for managing and executing the on ground aspects of our environmental projects. The aim of our projects is to restore denuded environmental areas to fully functioning, self-resilient ecosystems. The ideal applicant will have an affinity with the bush and a desire to see it restored to a pristine state.
Duties will include:
Management Skills
- Keeping Project Managers up-to-date on the project progress
- Creating a work schedule for trades and crews – week to week
- Training, mentoring and Assessing team members
- Resolving issues between crew – Conflict res onsite
- Ensuring your team is adequately resourced in both equipment and team members
- Allocating day to day tasks to team members & coordinating work on site
- Coordinating trades and subcontractors with the help of the Project Manager
- Ensure equipment is operational and serviced
- Provide updates to Project Managers regularly
- Drive a supportive and safe culture in your team
- Support other Team Leaders with equipment and additional team member when required.
On ground Skills
- Weed, pest and disease management
- Habitat creation
- Planting
- Erosion and sediment control
- Bio retention repairs and maintenance
- Maintenance of Natural Areas
- Bushfire management (desirable)
The following items are considered essential to carry out this job:
- A strong work ethic
- Working Knowledge of South-East Qld bushland and flora communities
- ACDC commercial operators licence
- Strong flora identification skills
- Prior lead role experience
- Construction white card
- Current Qld Driver’s license (manual)
- A commitment to safe work practices
- A form of environmental education and or training
- A current OHS construction card (White Card)
- Ability to be flexible, as no two days are the same
- An affinity and passion with the environment
Desirable but not essential items include:
- 4WD Operation
- Degree in Ecology or Botany
- Chainsaw ticket
- First Aid/CPR
- Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (or equivalent)
The ability to lead and work harmoniously as part of a small team is essential.
The position is fulltime permanent
