What you'll be doing

The role of the Revenue Co-ordinator is to contribute to service delivery within the Transactional Services Department by ensuring an effective and efficient debt recovery process and by providing management support and advice to the Deputy Manager in the raising and collection of revenue in compliance with NSW Health and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network guidelines and instructions.  
The Revenue Co-ordinator will undertake a range of activities including the direct management of the Debt Recovery Team and requires a commitment to teamwork and co-operation through a flexible and hand-on approach to work, respect of co-workers, an ability to manage and monitor team workloads and a willingness to assist to meet team deadlines.  
The Revenue Co-ordinator works closely with the Deputy Manager in ensuring excellence in service delivery by investigating issues and providing advice covering all operational aspects of debt recovery related to Patient Billing and Sundry Debtors. This role has a close working relationship with the Patient Liaison Officers and Overseas Co-ordinator to identify revenue opportunities and make a direct contribution to management solutions.  
The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, together with the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick, forms the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN).  
Our aim is to provide relevant, innovative and dynamic health service for all children attending our facilities.  

  1. Proven skills in the supervision and management of staff within a Debt Recovery Team and extensive experience in using relevant legislations and regulations
  2. Demonstrated skills in customer management including experience in dealing with aggravated customers
  3. Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to set priorities and meet key performance indicators and deadlines based on the strategic focus of the organisation
  4. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  5. Demonstrated ability to undertake staff performance appraisals to identify professional development requirements
  6. Demonstrated skills in data analysis and the ability to collate and present reports in a user friendly format
  7. Proven skills in the evaluation of work processes and the ability to assist in the development of policy and procedures to improve work performance

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
