About your new role:

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Senior Revenue Officer to ensure accurate Medicare & Fee Revenue for Residential Aged Care clients, from billing and claims through to collections and refunds from account closures. This includes the maintenance of resident financial records in the Senior Living Solutions (SLS) application.

Working as an integral member of the Finance team this position maintains financial information in relation to resident bond/A refundable accommodation deposit (RAD) payments to ensure prompt and accurate refunds and compliance with guidelines and reporting.  

Duties: not limited to

  • Prepares documentation for payout of vacating clients, including respite.
  • Ensures relevant client information, such as billing information, is maintained in the electronic database.
  • Produces and distributes statements for clients’ fees and accounts on a fortnightly basis or as required.
  • Produces and distributes invoices / credit memos.
  • Processes direct debit rejections and reports these to residents &/or family members in a timely manner
  • Ongoing, follow up of assets and income assessments to ensure that resident fees and accommodation contributions and other payments are optimised as permitted under the legislation
  • Prepare and check all resident exit details for final payment and update Epicor records as appropriate and update resident files.
  • Liaise with relevant government departments in relation to processing of Medicare claims, to correct anomalies, follow up on incomplete processing, ensuring all claims lodged and processed so that the funding is claimed and paid in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Complete funding submission to Medicare and funding reconciliations – entry of payment statements information and expected funding in the system in a timely accurate manner.
  • Ensure Refundable Accommodation Deposits (RADs) & Daily Accommodation Payments (DAPs) and other entry and payment information are accounted for in the RAD/bond register in accordance with the prescribed legislation (assets and income assessments). Update Medicare with resident entry, exit & leave details on a timely basis for Residential Aged Care.
  • Manages and responds to client queries and issues
  • Maintain resident records both in the system and in resident files to ensure financial information is accurate and up to date
  • Work in accordance with Baptistcare’s Code of Conduct.

Skills and Experience:

Essential 

  • Previous experience in accounts or billing
  • Previous experience using a large complex database 
  • Demonstrated ability to organise work and manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a wide range of IT applications
  • Ability to work with a high degree of initiative

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in the Aged Care Sector 
  • Previous experience using Epicor 10 

Conditions of Employment

  • National Police Clearance (screened in accordance with the organisations policies).
  • Influenza vaccination on an annual basis as per company policy
