Reporting to the Asset Management Risk Officer, you will play a key role as strategic partner and trusted advisor on all risk matters, including driving the investment risk framework, across the within Asset Management division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Investment team to provide oversight, appetite, insight, challenge and advice across the implementation of Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation, including leveraging the ERC team, influencing the team to consider the investment risk aspects in its work.
- Coach and develop the team and openly share risk, business, and regulatory knowledge with and good practices as it relates to the investment risk and Asset Management
- Proactively support the leadership and management teams and deliver tasks and projects on time, and as promised. Be client centric and responsive
- Demonstrate a solution orientated commercial approach when supporting the business and delivering risk solutions
- Drive process improvement within own area, as well as across the business
- Responsible for developing a strong risk & compliance culture
- Contribution to industry consultations as required
To Be Successful in This Role You Will Possess:
- Undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce, Law, or relevant subjects (mandatory).
- Postgraduate studies in Risk, Compliance and/or Finance e.g. CFA - well regarded.
- 7+ years or more in risk and compliance roles in complex financial services organisations and / or prior roles within the Investment Management and/ or Wealth management sectors.
- Prior experience / familiarity managing or providing oversight of Investment / Market Risk desirable
- Strong engagement skills. Ability to cut through with senior, diverse and large working groups to advise and provide continuous improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills at Board and Executive level.
- Strong analytical, evaluation and consultative skills.
- Ability to offer advice and insights to aid recommendations.
- Ability to drive change with the business, systems, processes, and people.
- Commercially astute, with an ability to bring best practice risk and compliance insight and knowledge and apply it within the organisation’s context
- Ability to impart knowledge and experience through coaching
- Ability to drive behavioural and mindset changes with key stakeholders
