  • Part Time Ongoing (0.4 FTE)
  • 2 days per week (15.2 hours)
  • Located in Leongatha - Flexible work options available
  • $36,252 per annum plus 11% Superannuation

South Gippsland Shire Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Risk & Compliance Officer.


An exciting opportunity exists to join Councils’ Risk & Procurement team, where you will be part of a team responsible for imbedding a robust risk and compliance culture, processes and systems across every element of Council’s operations.

 ABOUT YOU

Reporting to the Coordinator Risk & Procurement you will be responsible for providing support to Council’s Risk team including:

  • Risk Management
  • Procurement
  • Freedom of Information and Privacy
  • Legislative compliance
  • Insurance
  • Audit and Risk Committee and;
  • Service delivery standards and continuous improvement frameworks.

If you have the ability to work autonomously, resolve problems of a complex nature, high levels of attention to detail, strong computer skills, and with working knowledge of relevant law, we would love to hear from you.


To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Business Management, Law or a related discipline or a willingness to progress towards a formal qualification, and experience working in a corporate based governance, compliance and risk management environment. You will have sound verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to write reports and confidence to present to Council, excellent customer support skills, desire to achieve results and the ability to assistance from other staff within the organisation.
