Job description ABOUT THE COMPANY.Join a local council as a Road and Safety Transport Officer. Local Government offer 35 hours per week, flexible start and finish times, RDO's and stability in contract roles with potential for extension or transition into a permanent role.ABOUT THE POSITION.As a Road and Safety Transport Officer, you will liaise with TransportNSW and the community to improve Road and Safety matters by promoting programs such as yellow lines, frequently misunderstood traffic rules, child car seat checking and pedestrian safety.DUTIES.
- Engage the community to decrease risks and promote road safety
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including TransportNSW
- Represent Council through community engagement to hold programs
- Ability to prepare, develop and implement a road safety strategy and action plan with emphasis on behavioral and education projects
- Qualifications in Engineering, Psychology or relevant degree
- Prior experience using parking technology is desirable
- Demonstrated experience in community consultation processes
- Effective communication and presentation skills
