Mt Cuthbert Group acquired the Leichhardt Project in 2013, located at the remote Mount Cuthbert Mine, near the township of Kajabbi, North West Queensland, and situated approx. 110km north east of Mount Isa. In 2020, the group acquired the Rocklands site, approx 17 klm west of Cloncurry.
This position will be located at the Rocklands project, however there is potential for the successful applicant to be located across the 2 projects.
Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor is part of the site Safety team, who are committed to ensuring the very best in health and safety outcomes are delivered to back to the business.
This autonomous position is ideal for a safety graduate who has industry experience.
You must love variety. Your time will be spent offering expert knowledge and guidance in the field of Occupational Health and Safety across all areas of the business (including Mining operations, Copper Processing, Exploration, Maintenance and Administration).
You are a team player. You will possess a proactive and committed leadership approach to Occupational Health and Safety, looking for solutions with a positive and "can do" attitude.
Your highly developed interpersonal skills will mean you have the ability to communicate effectively across all levels and most importantly, you will influence and motivate others toward a culture of continuous improvement in OH&S
Your great PC skills will mean you will be responsible for your own administration and you will have the resolve to be self directed and work unsupervised.
To be successful you will need to have:
Cert 1V Work Health and Safety with relevant industry experience
Work place training and assessment qualification desired, not essential.
Workplace First Aid Certificate - Senior First Aid or higher qualification
Knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999
Knowledge and understanding of national safety legislation
MS Office skills – in particular MS Excel
Manual drivers licence
