Safety Advisor

About the role

MinRes Energy is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor on the MinRes 100% owned LOC400 drilling rig, this role will be a permanent position on a 3/3 roster.

The Senior HSE and Training Advisor will promote and excellent safety culture and deliver well projects within agreed timeframes and parameter, inclusive of compliance with all applicable statutory obligations.

• Assist in the development of the HSE systems, policies and procedures under which the drilling rig will operate.
• Ensuring a safely operated rig site, through implementation and compliance with MinRes HSE systems, policies, procedures, the site OHS Management Plan and applicable legislation, demonstrating leadership in all safety related matters.
• Lead and coach personnel on the job in HSE and training matters
• Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external training courses to drive excellence in safety performance of personnel.
• Monitor and update the personnel training matrix to identify gaps in training to ensure full compliance with obligations and provide feedback to personnel regarding their training progress.
• Provide support and training to crew members in writing JHAs and SOPs.
• Input, update and follow up with hazard, behavioural observations and incident registers as required.
• Report all incidents or injuries to site personnel, regardless of the severity, in accordance with MinRes policies and procedures.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• Cert TAE40116 / TAE40122 in Training and Assessment
• Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas rig experience in a HSE / Trainer role
• Experienced in the development and implementation of a drilling rig operations
