The Project
CPB Contractors has been selected by the South Australian Government to deliver regional projects under the Port Wakefield to Port Augusta (PW2PA) Alliance.
Your Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Safety Coordinator, reporting to the HSE Manager. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to contribute to the achievement of the Health and Safety objectives of the project by ensuring that all staff and contractors comply with Statutory, Contractual and Safety Management System obligations. The role will be based at Port Wakefield.
As a Safety Coordinator, you will be accountable for:
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the One HSE Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations;
- Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks;
- Attend meetings, pre-starts, provide site advice & guidance in respect of all OHS matters
- Build and maintain productive external relationships to facilitate the delivery of the project
- Robust understanding of Construction Safety legislation
- Demonstrable experience of Safety Management System implementation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage assigned workload
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable), Cert IV in OHS as a minimum
