POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the Club’s Annual Sailing program through efficient and professional management, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Boating Manager, the role involves supervision and direction of the Volunteer program.
In conjunction with the Boating Manager, the Sailing Coordinator takes chief accountability for the club’s on-water activities, regatta event coordination, race management, and organisation of the club’s rescue boat fleet maintenance and use.
Days and hours of employment must be flexible with weekend and public holiday hours required to coordinate club activities and hosted events. The usual working week will be Tuesday - Saturday
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide High-Quality race administration including entering handicaps, creating a list of entrants, boat sheets, results, and point scores for Club races, including regattas.
- Conduct race prize presentations where required and coordinate seasonal prizegiving and other sailing events.
- Manage Special Regulations checklists to ensure competing boats have submitted required race documentation.
- Manage the entry process and collection of required race documentation and checklists ahead of major yacht races.
- Help boat owners enter races and find crew.
- Manage Corporate and Charity sailing regattas of on water resources and personnel.
- Co-ordinate Race Officials and Volunteer rosters.
- Assist in the publication of Race Documents (Notice of Races, Sailing Instructions, online forms etc)
- Attend Sailing Committee Meetings as a minute taker.
- Liaise with other sailing clubs for the coordination of jointly managed racing.
- Help with marina operations as requested by Boating Manager.
- Daily supervision of Sailing Office staff in the absence of the Boating Manager.
- Contribute to motivation and communication in a staff team environment.
- Comply with all Club policies and relevant legislation.
