About the Role
Reporting directly to the Business Development Manager, this role perfectly suits a sales professional who has a good understanding of CNC machinery but wants to take the next step in their career by taking leadership over the role.
You will be someone who enjoys developing and then building trusting working relationships with all types of customers including small businesses through to large scale manufacturers.
- Proactively build relationships with potential prospects through phone calls and site visits with assistance from the BDM and invest energy into learning each product and which type of business it might suit.
- Scheduling time to visit customer factories and worksites to form relationships with key stakeholders like operations managers, production managers, and factory supervisors.
- Asking insightful questions of stakeholders to understand their needs, efficiency requirements, and productivity goals to recommend the right machinery and solution.
- Following up after the initial meeting, creating quotes based on customer needs, and discussing with BDM to confirm further steps.
- Converting quotes into sales through managing the order, logistics, and timing of machine arrival and keeping the customer informed throughout the project.
- Keeping on top of industry updates through social media and newsletters, attending key events, and maintaining relationships with industry stakeholders.
- Frequently planned interstate ( and overseas ) travel will be a part of the role. This would entail regular interstate customer visits and occasional visits overseas to our European suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and grow existing relationships in an established and mature market throughout Australia and New Zealand.
- Investigate and routinely conduct cold calls to identify opportunities.
- Work well in a goal-oriented team, including participating in frequent meetings to discuss sales, new initiatives, and products.
- Develop and secure new business by providing solutions to customers' requirements.
- Work on a well-organized call plan to ensure thorough coverage of key areas throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Skills and experience
- Proven cold calling and face-to-face sales experience along with an understanding of CNC Machinery.
- Enjoy talking to people and understanding what you can do to elevate customer production capabilities.
- Ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels of the business.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships over time and distance.
