Who is this client you ask?

Our client, a leading and well-known, highly respected global business with a strong national operating footprint in Australia & NZ. As a multi award-winning brand and global leader in “Access Solutions”, services related to locks, doors, gates, and entrance automation operating across many industries. 

Their products are frequently used in factories, warehouses, loading docks, airports, schools, distribution centres, shopping centres, stadiums, car parks, shop fronts, counter tops, bars, food processing/climate-controlled areas and product displays. Our client also manufactures a comprehensive range of doors for the truck body and trailer market. Products include truck shutters and doors, along with a large range of highly specialised applications for fire engines and emergency service vehicles. Alongside this, their vehicle shutters and vehicle doors suit a variety of regular delivery vehicles and semi-trailers.

Australia's HQ is based out of Melbourne.

As our client embarks on their next stage of growth and an internal promotion, they are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic well-seasoned BDM , Sales Estimator who is passionate about their field of work, technically astute and looking for a long-term career, not just a job. 

The Opportunity

For this great position, we are looking for a dedicated & talented individual who wants to be part of a forward-thinking organisation whose culture is based on Innovation, Integrity and Empowerment. 

This key level position is integral to the overall success of the company and will see you:

  • As BDM Sales Estimator, this role is responsible for managing tenders (project take offs, pricing and organising quotes), completing and attending online tender interviews, Scope of works and negotiating contracts trading terms and conditions. 
  • You will also be assisting customers and colleagues to ensure products are ready for production and installation. 

About you and what you will bring to the table…. 

As a trusted advisor you will draw upon your technical expertise and knowledge within this industry space, providing high-level professional service.

  • A solid set of experience in sales estimating experience within the building and construction industry would be highly advantageous, as would a tertiary/TAFE qualification in estimating.
  • Knowledge of National Construction Code is required, along with strong analytical skills and the capability to interpret technical drawings. 
  • You can actively contribute to a successful team, and along with a strong customer focus, the capacity to multi-task and have a flexible and adaptable approach are pivotal to being successful in this role.
  • You will be an exceptional communicator and be able to work with your team in order to achieve set targets and KPIs. 
  • High attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills are desired.
  • Always striving for 100% honesty and integrity and developing meaningful relationships. 
  • Strong business acumen and results focus.
  • You can think on your feet with an attitude and approach to thinking about things differently, seeking out better ways, embracing critical questioning, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • You have exceptional problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to come up with creative solutions to new problems.

Education

  • Undertaken qualification in Engineering, Construction or equivalent industry relevant experience - Highly regarded, but not a deal breaker.
