Sales & Technical Representative 

Purpose of the position

BCL is a leading provider of innovative and eco-friendly dust suppression solutions for a wide range of industries. Our technologies help our clients mitigate the environmental and health risks associated with dust, ensuring a safer and more sustainable work environment. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team and drive the expansion of our dust suppression product line.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sales Representative who will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and fostering strong relationships with key clients in the field of dust suppression solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the industrial and construction sectors, with a demonstrated ability to identify client needs and offer tailored dust suppression solutions. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills, who can effectively communicate the benefits of our products and services to potential customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Acquisition: Identify and target new potential clients in industries prone to dust-related challenges, including but not limited to civil and commercial construction, mining, quarrying, subdivision, agriculture, rail, manufacturing, and major projects.
  2. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, understanding their evolving needs, and ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services.
  3. Product Knowledge: Gain an in-depth understanding of our dust suppression solutions, ensuring the ability to explain their benefits and advantages to potential clients.
  4. Customized Solutions: Work closely with clients to assess their dust-related problems and provide customized solutions that effectively address their specific needs.
  5. Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  6. Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and regulations related to dust suppression to identify potential business opportunities.
  7. Sales Targets: Set and achieve sales targets and quotas within specified timelines. 
  8. Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market data. Provide regular reports to the sales manager and contribute to sales forecasting.
  9. Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing and be a part of the technical team to align sales efforts with marketing strategies and product development.
  10. Customer Education: Educate clients on the benefits of environmentally friendly dust suppression solutions and provide after-sales support as needed.

Work Experience and Skills

Our ideal candidate will either have a qualification in Civil Engineering or operational experience in mining, quarry or similar industries, a strong communicator, and a natural team-player with a drive to deliver product educational programs in industry, whilst building and maintaining strong networks.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, with a preference for candidates familiar with industrial, construction, or mining industries
  • Proven track record in sales, preferably in the field of industrial equipment or environmental solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Knowledge of dust suppression technologies and their applications in various industries is highly desirable.
  • Previous hands-on technical ability and/or site training is highly preferable but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • The ability to follow a carefully constructed category call cycle and the constant and timely follow-up of existing and new customers and leads is essential.
  • Familiar with WH&S, Quality, and Environmental controls.
  • Ability to solve and manage competing demands.
  • Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Fantastic organisational and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally. 
  • Drivers Licence

Preferred Skills

  • Customer service experience
  • Familiar with traditional and modern training processes.
  • Work experience in the Civil Construction or mining sectors.
