Purpose of your role

The Business Analyst position is a key role that is responsible for applying analytical solutions to problems and existing processes with the aim to increase effectiveness through technology solutions. This role plays an integral part in bridging the gap between Technology, Product and the Business using data analytics to assess processes and determine requirements that will allow Technology delivery teams to effectively meet business needs. An ability to produce documentation (in a timely manner) that supports either product or project teams to achieve outcomes, using different delivery methodologies is an important part of the role, so a blend of experience is important particularly in terms of agile delivery.

The initial focus will be working with our Customer Management team, with Salesforce transformation experience essential. The focus will be on working both transformation change initiatives and operational BAU activities that support our Customer Management capabilities team. You will be providing business expertise and practical solution delivery experience to ensure that the team you are working with consistently delivers quality software that meets user product requirements and acceptance criteria. The role will support dependency management and help to remove impediments that are preventing the team from accomplishing its goals.

This role is within a fast-moving team and will involve working with some ambiguity to achieve objectives, so you must be comfortable with that. As such you will be expected to take initiative and display strong communication and time-management skills to facilitate meetings that ensure teams and stakeholders are aligned on the outcomes.

What you do

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. Understand how technology can support business goals
  • Identify problems within the business, including using data modelling techniques, constructing workflow diagrams, studying system capabilities, writing specifications
  • Communicate with people at all levels of the organisation to determine how technology solutions can meet business needs
  • Oversee the implementation of new technology and systems, including enhancements and be a key person to conduct UAT to ensure what has been developed is in line with business requirements
  • Run workshops and training sessions
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from underlying true business needs
  • Conduct gap analysis and work with technical leads/architects to identify where existing solutions do not meet the business requirements. Ensure this is clearly documented. Model the data requirements or work with the appropriate people to ensure that the data will support the new solution
  • Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability
  • Work with the SME's to understand the Customer Management experience and journeys end-to-end
  • Strong experience in Salesforce implementations and acting as the SME for Salesforce
  • Knowledge of compliance, regulations and customer onboarding processes
  • Experience working with Salesforce development teams, either internal teams or 3rd party implementation partners

Qualifications

  • Relevant IT or Computer Science degree

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a Business Analysis Role

  • Salesforce Admin Certification would be essential

  • Strong understanding of modelling standards such as UML and BPMN

  • Ability to model Sequence Diagrams as part of the UML framework

  • Basic SQL knowledge or ability to write SQL queries is essential

  • Experience in Financial or payment services company preferred

  • Experience working in digital area & in client/consumer facing products and projects

  • Ability to understand Microservice/API and application/system architecture

  • Commercial awareness

  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills

  • An interest in, and understanding of, project delivery techniques (Agile, project management etc) and computing systems

  • Being detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy

  • Proven ability to drive technology teams to deliver results

  • Extremely well organised with strong time-management skills

  • Work well under pressure

  • Demonstrated experience working on Scrum and/or Kanban based products

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Ability to think on your feet and learn quickly

  • Knowledge of and significant experience working with Jira and Confluence is required

  • Collaborative style

  • A good sense of humour
