What does the business unit do?Emergency Management, within the Department of Justice and Community Safety works closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio. The group is led by the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management. Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities and statutory entities and offices.Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).The purpose of the Operations Branch is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.What will the Senior Lessons and Evaluation Officer do?

• Within the State Control Centre (SCC) ensure the effective agency communication flows to internal and external stakeholders. This involves extensive use of phone, SMS, email, internet and agency applications as appropriate.
• Provide SCC administrative support to ensure the operational functions of the SCC are in accordance with requirements and are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.

The role works on a rostered basis and the successful candidates will be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends.What skills and knowledge should a Senior Lessons and Evaluation Officer have?As our ideal candidate, you will have:

• Strong communication and multitasking skills, with proficiency in a range of IT packages.
• Excellent stakeholder skills to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements is desirable.
