Leeming Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic, and committed School Officer to join our dynamic team.
As the School Officer you will ideally be experienced, have a friendly, positive and caring attitude; be self-motivated and organised. The successful applicant will work as part of an office team in a busy and dynamic school environment.
We are seeking a flexible, skilled, and collaborative applicant who will be an integral part of supporting and implementing strategic administrative practices and procedures that add value to the school’s operations. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work unsupervised within an highly supportive and professional team would be ideal, along with the ability to move between tasks and deliver outcomes while working to deadlines in a complex and fast-paced environment.
As a welcoming and supportive School Officer, you will be the first point of contact for our diverse school community, building and maintaining relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community. This position will be integral to the continued establishment of the school and its culture, with the maintenance of confidentiality expected.
You would be required to support the Administration team in the delivery of school database systems information, student support processes, student records, reporting, enrolments, marketing and accounts payable or receivable. It is highly regarded to have experience in the use of HRMIS, Integris, RM Billing, RM Finance and Microsoft Office software.
You will support the communication, promotions and marketing of our school. In our fast paced, sometimes challenging environment, the ability to prioritise and complete tasks in a timely manner is ideal. Strong organisational, initiative and the capacity to deliver outcomes while working in a timely manner will be highly regarded.
You should possess attention to detail and have the ability to meet deadlines. Our students, staff and the wider community are a priority for the school, so liaising respectfully and positively at all times is an important aspect of the role.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
