This role constitutes a vital part of in the provision of best practice in the School’s academic, pastoral and co-curricular education in a caring, stimulating, Christian setting that will help students to achieve their potential and to flourish in life.
OUR SCHOOL
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is an Independent, Anglican, Co-educational, Day and Boarding school for students from Pre-Kindergarten through to Year 12. Located in the beautiful South West of Western Australia, our School is set in a unique bush environment just minutes from the City of Bunbury and an easy commute from the City of Busselton. SELECTION CRITERA
Essential
- Awareness of the ethical and legal issues regarding the role of a professional psychologist / Social Worker / counsellor including: confidentiality; informed consent; appropriate disclosures; referral pathways; case note documentation and security.
- Ability to effectively engage and counsel children and other members of the School community.
- A current Working With Children (or be able to obtain).
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with parents.
- Ability to establish a collegial, respectful and productive working relationship with colleagues in the Primary and Secondary School.
- A willingness to be involved in Whole-of-School activities, e.g. evening performances, fundraising events.
- A willingness to be involved in the religious life of the School, e.g. attending Eucharist Services, encouraging Christian principles.
- A sound knowledge of Information Communication Technology as used in the administration of the School.
Desirable
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia - Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Professional counselling experience in an educational setting.
- Experience dealing with secondary and primary aged children and their families
- An ability to understand and assess the learning needs of students.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the principles and practices of positive psychology in an education setting.
