We are currently seeking a full time Technical Officer / Scientific Officer to join our team at the Gosford Laboratory, located on the Central Coast
Reporting to the Lab Manager, this multi-faceted role will involve the accurate and efficient testing of specimens, quality assurance and instrumentation, as well as other duties as required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing
- Performing all routine procedures from point of specimen reception to execution of results for Pathological diagnosis
- Compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols
- Maintaining all equipment and operating equipment in line with protocols
- Maintaining current scientific knowledge
- Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
- Liaising with internal and/ or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.
About You:
- Experience in Blood Banking, Haematology and Biochemistry is preferred but not essential
- A relevant Technical qualification or AIMS accredited degree obtained from an accredited tertiary institution
- Be able to work a 7 day rotating roster as well as participating in an on-call roster
- Hold a Current NSW Drivers Licence
- An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
