About the role
Reporting to the Team Lead of Security Operations. The Security Engineer will become a member of the managed Services team (Security Operation Group). This role will see you support clients request, resolve incidents and provide on-call support to our valued customers.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role, providing network security support and incident resolution.
- Experience working as a Security Engineer, with a focus on products like F5, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Citrix ADC, and PKI infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of network security concepts, protocols, and technologies, including Nextgen firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, load balancer and WAF.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing F5 load balancers, Palo Alto firewalls, Checkpoint firewalls, Fortinet firewalls, Citrix ADC, and PKI infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, and vendor-specific certifications (F5-CA, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Fortinet NSE4, Citrix CCA-N) are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Customer request fulfilment and incident resolution on security devices that includes, firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers, intrusion detection / prevention, VPN, cloud hosted systems and authentication services within the SLA time.
- Diagnose and implement control actions as necessary to ensure availability including performance in terms of capacity, utilization, and availability in accordance with relevant Service Level Agreements on security systems, services and devices.
- Analyse traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to security infrastructures as required.
- Testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning security software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues.
- Perform periodic security devices vulnerability assessments, health check, backup and ensure integrity of weekly backups.
- Incorporate relevant security reporting information and data to produce monthly reports per agreed schedules.
- Automation of BAU processes and tasks where possible to minimize human error and manage time effectively.
- Provide support to customers and field staff in the resolution of Security device faults as required.
