The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Security Manager to operate to operate in our world-class facility, servicing one of Global CTDI's most highly respected customers. Based in the Western Sydney region of Australia, the Security Manager will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all personnel, assets, and our facility. This will include overseeing the daily security operations of the site, security service contractor management, and implementing security protocols.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for implementing a safety culture within a global organisation and be able to quickly adapt to changing tasks.
Other Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and ensure the physical safety and security of persons, property, and assets, from illegal activity.
- Immediately notify local police, branch management, and corporate security, of a security incident/threat in accordance with company/client procedure.
- In collaboration with the Corporate Security Department and Branch Manager, design, implement, and enforce a system for issuing access badges.
- The design, implementation, and enforcement of a system to issue temporary access credentials.
- Direct activities to monitor access to the facility by employees, guests, and contractors.
- The accurate recording and investigation of any security incidents within the facility in collaboration with the contracted security service and relevant department/s.
- Establish and maintain a security plan for the facility that complies with all corporate and regulatory requirements and ensures the safety and security of our guests, employees, and property.
- Establish and maintain a fire prevention and response plan and ensure sound operations.
- Oversee staff scheduling (contracted service and direct hire) to safeguard our employees and facilities effectively.
- Coordinate and communicate with state and local law enforcement authorities to ensure compliance and to establish positive and productive working relationships.
- Prepare and direct departmental budgets related to security and safety needs.
- Coordinate security activities with all related and supporting departments, and contracted security service.
- Ensure all access controls, cameras, and security equipment are operational and functional by ensuring required preventive maintenance is carried out.
- Conduct daily security checks.
- Lead the site security team and follow up on actions identified during regular meetings.
- Enforce general plant safety and security policies and procedures and participate in Emergency Action planning and implementation.
- Implement corrective actions to address any issues or non-compliance.
- Comply with customer’s security requirements as required and address any client concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Required Skills:
- Be detail-oriented and have the demonstrated capability to proactively identify and implement initiatives to enhance and improve the effectiveness of the overall facility security program.
- Program development and project management skills, including the ability to design and implement complex security programs.
- The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management from CEO to floor-level staff, and customers.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle with the ability to respond to alarms and other situations after hours.
- Basic computer skills such as MS/Office/Outlook, and Access control and camera systems.
- Ability to exercise initiative, be self-directed, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
The successful candidates will hold the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year university course or equivalent experience. A degree in corporate security management is preferred.
- Fully qualified and Licensed for Security Operations in NSW.
- Control Room Operator capacity on the Security License is highly preferred.
- 5 years of investigative experience, or 10+ years of experience with major law enforcement, Intelligence, military force, or corporate security.
- 4 or more years of security management experience with a large, multi-national company preferred.
- Security experience preferred to have been in the high-tech manufacturing field, with knowledge of guard scheduling and utilisation, expertise in CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and contingency planning.
- The ideal candidate must also be familiar with supply chain security (i.e., logistics, cycle counts, government compliance, etc.),
- Extensive experience with key security skills and abilities, including but not limited to, corporate investigations, physical security, executive protection, risk analysis, compliance, and emergency management.
- 2+ years experience in personnel management and development.
- Experience with domestic and international threat monitoring and analysis, including data retrieval and analysis from the Department of Home Affairs, Emergency Management Australia, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (or their international equivalents), and other public and private resources.
