THE ROLE:
- You will manage the sales, contractual issues, communication and quoting to secure orders as well as oversee the delivery of key customer projects.
- It would be beneficial to have an appreciation of manufacturing, installation/engineering practices, lifts/vertical transport, hydraulics, steel fabrication, mechanical assembly and electrical wiring.
- Ideally, you have gained your experience in the manufacturing/industrial/materials handling/construction industries and thrive working in a professional and dynamic environment where your attention to detail, positive attitude, and willingness to learn ensure your working day is both productive and enjoyable.
- Primarily office-based role with the expectation to attend onsite meetings with customers as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve monthly and annual sales & gross profit targets.
- Maximise sales opportunities within existing accounts and search out new business opportunities by following up “warm leads” provided by the organisation. Converting pipeline opportunities into sales consistently is an essential component of the role.
- Assist in clarifying the scope of works, understanding client needs and the contractual and technical items for projects prior to design and effectively communicating this information to the relevant departments.
- Coordinate between the Sales, Production, Finance, and Engineering teams to ensure each project is completed to the agreed timeline and design specifications.
- Attend site inspections to assist design and installation by collating key specifications with specific project evidence/information.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and respond to customer enquiries effectively and promptly.
- Manage customer communications effectively and with the appropriate priority.
- Manage multiple projects to meet varying milestones, deadlines, and budgets cost-effectively and efficiently.
- Update and maintain relevant project documentation, sales registers and reports.
- Support business sales and marketing initiatives.
- Develop, foster, and maintain customer relationships.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5-10 years experience in an account management/new business development role with a demonstrable track record in converting pipeline opportunities into profitable sales on a month-to-month or quarterly basis.
- A technical aptitude or experience in a field that requires an understanding of technical specifications would be beneficial but not essential.
- Have an appreciation of building, installations and engineering workshop practices including welding, steel fabrication, machinery, mechanical assembly and electrical wiring.
- A natural tendency to be client-focused and effective in identifying problems and opportunities when interacting with the customer.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of your work output.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, MS Office – Word and Excel.
- A natural willingness to learn, take on new concepts and work outside your comfort zone.
- Ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines.
- Ability to operate with enthusiasm, flexibility and resilience.
