About The Role
- The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the finance team, ensuring accurate reporting and control of procedures across operations.
- Provide financial guidance as a key partner to the operations team, overseeing cost and capital management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial governance.
- Managing end-of-month activities, ensuring compliance with commercial agreements.
- Communication with stakeholders at all levels.
- Influencing and guiding the site-based financial team (some travel will be required).,
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, CPA / CA or equivalent,
- Previous experience in a mining environment and basic knowledge of the Qld Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and Regulations, and
- Proficiency in using accounting software and financial analysis methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess, review, and improve the organization's accredited systems. Proven ability to conduct research, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Make use of financial data to accurately diagnose business conditions, cost/benefit analysis, and provide recommendations.
