The position also contributes to corporate reporting improvements and provides broader assistance to the management accounting team in relation to the Annual Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan.Duties Include:
- Provide timely and accurate financial advice to Council’s Senior Management Team and senior staff.
- Assist with month end processes and monthly corporate reporting in line with agreed month end reporting timeframes.
- Assist with Quarterly Budget Reviews, with a specific focus on Section 7.11 revenue, operating expenditure and capital works programming.
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan.
- Assist the Senior Management Accountant with the establishment, monitoring and updating of a specific Developer Contributions Long Term Financial Plan, which incorporates funding models for non-essential infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation, accounting codes and standards, policies and procedures that relate to the functions and activities performed by the position.
- Monthly reconciliation of all Section 7.11 cash / non- cash income, expenditure and interest in the business Section 7.11 Contribution Register.
- Other relevant duties which may be required by the Senior Management Accountant.
- Tertiary qualifications (or commenced) in an accounting / finance related discipline.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in applying accounting policies and procedures.
- Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills (including reconciliation skills).
- Expert knowledge and application of Microsoft Office products (particularly financial spreadsheets).
- Proven ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Section 7.11 developer contributions accounting procedures.
