Focus of the Role
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has become available for a highly motivated individual to join the Telstra Security Practice as a Senior Acquisition Sales Specialist - Cyber Security to support Federal Government based in Canberra.
The primary purpose of this position is to lead growth within an assigned Federal Government portfolio and will involve the cultivation and ongoing relationship management of key Security stakeholders and senior executives.

What You’ll Do

As the Senior Acquisition Sales Specialist - Cyber Security, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing thought leadership and sales business development to the assigned customer base, assuming a leadership position in building relevant customer relationships and initiating conversations with the customers.
  • Managing and contributing to the achievement of assigned sales, profitability, and revenue targets.
  • Forecasting, tracking, and reporting on sales and revenue metrics including sales linearity, deal cadence commentary and win plans.
  • Establishing and maintaining a pipeline equivalent to at least 3x target.
  • Building support within Telstra and the vendor/partner community and build relationships at all levels within customers, including to C-Level.
  • Effectively leveraging the myriad of security specific and account team resources within Telstra to achieve coverage in key accounts (e.g., cross domain selling).
  • Coordinating the various security resources available to become the trusted security partner.
  • Liaising with product management and delivery resources where required to ensure our solutions meet customer needs.
About You
  • Minimum NV1 clearance.
  • Very strong technical buyer community relationships and connections – CISO, SECOPS, SEC MGMT, SEC Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years Business Development experience in cybersecurity services, managed services, and solutions sales into the Federal Government market.
  • Have the proven ability to initiate and lead complex security discussions with Senior Stakeholders and be able to correctly position appropriate products, solutions, and services.
  • Can work in a virtual team across different geographies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have high level security design architecture capabilities, use of appropriate visual tools and an understanding of security principles.
Desirable qualifications/skills:
  • Relevant Degree or Certification
  • An understanding of Federal Government functions, including procurement panels and language
  • Agile ways of working experience
  • Multi-stakeholder environment
Candidates must hold a current Defence clearance to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.
