The Regulatory and Control Operations (RACO) team is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing leadership of the Groups financial crime shared services. RACO leads the Groups approach to managing AML/CTF, and Sanctions risks and obligations.We are a team of dedicated individuals and we partner closely with line 2 financial crime compliance and line 1 Risk teams across the group. Our external stakeholders are AUSTRAC and Law Enforcement.Do work that mattersAs a Senior Analyst, AML/CTF Analyst, you will be required to identify trends and report on these in line with our Vision; to excel at securing and enhancing the financial wellbeing of people, businesses and communities. You are also required to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, resulting in process improvement and enhanced customer experience within Financial Crime.You will report directly to a Manager in AML/CTF Operations. There are no direct reports in this role.On any given day you will
- Understanding of AML/CTF & Sanctions all legal and regulatory requirements, AML/CTF & Sanctions landscape and internal compliance policies relating to your role and apply to the business
- Understand and carry out tasks using techniques documented in the Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide the required assessment and investigation of events in accordance with agreed Service level Agreements (SLAs) as per Customer Value Proposition (CVP)
- Prompt escalation of issues / risks identified within specified SLAs
- Pro-actively identify and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) by using productivity tools for process simplification or increased efficiency
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of end-to-end business processes that is relevant to own area of expertise
- Maintain an up-to-date focus on financial crime, security related trends and emerging issues, and share knowledge obtained
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AML/CTF
- You will be responsible for own key performance indicators (KPIs) as well as contributing to the team’s performance/targets
- Pro-actively drive your Development Plan to include Education, Exposure and Experience
- Accept and provide coaching/training to peers as appropriate
- Contribute to a high standard of service to all internal/external clients through building effective working relationships with relevant parties including other teams in GS&A and staff from other Business units
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by your Manager
- Provide support and assistance to the wider FCS team as required
- Comprehensive understanding of financial crime risks
- Financial Services Industry experience
- Strong ability in attention to details and a high degree of accuracy
- Previous Experience working in financial crime operational area or Line 1 or Line 2 Financial Crime Compliance
- Sound understanding of the AML/CTF & Sanctions obligations
- Highly capable and agile in a rapidly changing environment
- Highly developed or advanced Written and Oral communication skills
