Your new role
The role sits within the Investment Operations & Reporting function. As the Senior Analyst Valuations you will support the oversight of the Fund's valuation of unlisted assets (Infrastructure, Private Equity and Credit) to ensure valuations are recorded in an accurate and timely manner. You will also support the expansion of the valuation oversight function and the successful delivery of the complete suite of Investment Operations & Reporting Services into the Investment teams.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Review of cyclical independent valuations for the portfolio of internally managed unlisted assets (spanning infrastructure, debt/credit and private equity), to verify accuracy of inputs, assess the reasonableness of key assumptions and validate the appropriateness of the final value.
- Assist with internal valuations to support the timely and accurate valuation of certain investments that are not valued externally.
- Assist with supporting the valuation governance of externally managed unlisted assets.
- Assist with internal reporting for, and presentations to, the Valuation Committee.
- Contribute to the provision of valuation insights and thought leadership across the Fund.
- Contribute to the Fund's Valuation function and capability, including developing systems, controls and processes required to support the rapidly growing fund and increasing size and complexity of investment assets.
- Proactively liaise with Investment Asset Class teams, Portfolio Management teams, Fund Operations teams and other key stakeholders to ensure early detection and resolution of valuation issues.
- Engage with other internal and external stakeholders such as the Valuation Committee, internal and external auditors to ensure obligations are met in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
What you'll need
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or other relevant area.
- 5 years' experience working within a valuation team of a large accounting firm or boutique corporate advisor, or an institutional/corporate investing role.
- Proven valuations experience.
- Experience with the preparation of reports, analysis of information and drawing of conclusions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute to a growing function.
