We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Asset Sponsor at our Perth Head Office, on a Permanent basis.
About this role
As the Senior Asset Sponsor you will be required to:
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation of asset management strategies and realisation of planned outcomes and benefits.
- Being accountable for shaping the corporate image of Western Power being safe, reliable and efficient managers of the network.
- Being responsible and accountable for the production and management of accurate capital and operational budget requirements associated with asset management projects and programs.
- Appropriate escalation of implementation issues in timely manner.
- Prepare and justify prudent and efficient work plans and complex business cases for capital expenditure and operations and maintenance expenditure.
- Accountable for appropriate mitigation of financial and implementation risk for asset projects and programs.
- Apply a balanced approach to all issues affecting asset projects/programs. Issues are generally complex and rarely have one solution for all situations. The incumbent must be able to think and act broadly across the issues faced.
- Ensure all systems are kept up to date and accurate as required to reflect project/program status, and financial information.
- Accountable for delivery of major OPEX and CAPEX projects and programs
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Tertiary qualifications in a business, engineering or project management related discipline - essential
- Project Management qualifications desirable, if not possessed must be willing to undertake study to gain qualification (PMBOK) - essential
- Extensive project management experience-essential
- Good understanding of project management frameworks and methodologies - essential
- Demonstrable experience in complex contract and financial negotiations in an infrastructure environment.
- A comprehensive and broad understanding of risk, commercial and compliance management
- A good understanding of operating within a regulatory framework
- Ability to make objective and balanced recommendations when dealing with competing demands
- Strong ability to prioritise competing demands and manage expectations appropriately
- Ability to build and maintain excellent internal and external relationships at a senior level
- Superior communication skills, including written skills to construct high level business cases
- High level negotiating skills
