Position: Senior Belt Technician (Belt Fitter or Splicer)Position Type: Full-TimeSalary: $70,000 to $74,000 plus superannuation per annumLocation: Parkinson QLD 4115Our client specialises in manufacturing high quality Conveyor & Transmission Belts using the latest technology. They are currently seeking a full-time Senior Conveyor Belt Technician to repair, maintain and install commercial conveyor belts used in food, agriculture, building products, waste, and transport industries.Tasks required include:
- Installing conveyor belts in commercial settings.
- Recognising imperfections and problem areas on conveyor belts and repairing them so that the conveyor belt may run without incident.
- Performing routine maintenance on conveyor belts and assuring they are clean and free of imperfections.
- Demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Fully understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Install mechanical splice materials and all related installation tools.
- Assemble vulcanizing equipment.
- Select and set up work area, including removal of conveyor components, clamping off belt, and raising counterweight.
- Properly lay out and prepare belt ends for a vulcanized splice, including lap splicing, and finger splicing on fabric belt in different widths
- Ability to conduct conveyor maintenance tasks, such as roller changes, roller frame change-out and repairs, skirt replacement and repairs, installation of tracking devices, installation and maintenance of belt cleaners and belt inspections.
- Ability to accurately calculate belt lengths through measurement and reading of technical drawings, splicing instructions, and splice diagrams.
- Clearly and effectively communicate with staff members and customers.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of the product promoted and clearly communicate the features and benefits to customers.
- Minimum AQF Certificate II or III OR at least one (1) years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
- Minimum of at least four (4) years of relevant experience.
- Must be willing and able to work outside standard hours of operation, when required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision required.
