As the Caving operation at Blackrock continues to develop, it has been identified that additional resource requirements are needed on a permanent basis within the Coordination team to support the operation.
The role of Senior – Resource Engineer – Blackrock will report to the Manager - Development (MICO) to provide a dedicated Senior to the current team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support and guidance to operations and management in regards to mine planning.
- Offering strategic mine planning solutions including flow modelling.
- Driving value and competitive advantage through innovative design and technical review
- Coaching and mentoring team members to help them achieve a safe, cost effective and productive mine plan and schedule;
- Providing visible leadership and driving of the safety culture;
- Ensure effective scheduling of the mining fleet to deliver the mining plan;
- Proactively source, record and maintain data to learn from historical issues;
- Conduct training gap analysis and a development plan for each employee;
- Support operations with additional technical knowledge of Sub Level Caving.
- Five or more years of experience in a similar sub-level caving;
- Knowledge of drill and blast methodologies for a caving operation ;
- A degree in mining engineering (a Masters would be well regarded).
- Additional qualifications in geology or geotechnical would be advantageous ;
- Software competency in Deswik CAD, Sched, IS and UGDB
- Intermediate computer skills.
