This respected corporation stands as a pillar of economic advancement in Far North Queensland. It holds and operates a significant business venture in the heavy industry sector, with a turnover reaching into the tens of millions. They are currently seeking a temporary full-time Senior Bookkeeper to join their team in Cairns. As a Senior Bookkeeper, your primary objective will be to achieve accurate and timely transactional processing in line with month-end requirements.
Your new role
This temporary 3-month opportunity is perfect for someone who is seeking a short-term temporary assignment in a dynamic and corporate environment. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will be a key team player in the Finance team. A position for someone who has experience with:
- Reconciling accounts and keeping financial records
- Processing payments and handling daily banking activities
- Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Generating invoices and receipts
- Prepare, review and lodge business activity statements (BAS), IAS, Superannuation (together with accountant)
- Producing and reviewing monthly management reports
- Appointment scheduling
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards and Eftpos transactions
- Invoice disputes
What you'll need to succeed
As an experienced Senior Bookkeeper, you will also have experience with:
- High level of data entry skills - speed and accuracy of input.
- Demonstrated accounts payable and bank reconciliation experience
- MS Excel - Intermediate/Advanced
- Strong level of written and verbal communication skills.
