About the team
In this position of a Senior Business Analyst, you will report into the Delivery Manager - Innovation.
You will work as part of a high performing, technical team comprising of other Business Analysts, iteration managers, mechatronic and devops engineers and full stack developers.
Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include the following but not be limited to:
- Assist with managing new requests from scoping, shaping, estimation, delivery planning & socialisation through to formal approval and deliver projects and initiatives.
- Work with extended technology and business teams. Support with identification, delivery, and implementation of innovative technology solutions.
- Provide thought leadership and drive ideas through to trial & proof of concept.
- Conduct market and technical research and contribute to technology though leadership for internal audiences.
- Analyse and consolidate information to provide IT input into business cases to support achievement of business objectives.
- Communicate technical issues and concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Provide a deep functional understanding of IT solutions.
- Translate business requests into Functional Specifications and engage the relevant SME to produce the required documentation.
- Establish relationships with stakeholders to develop trust and ensure reliable and accurate information.
- Work within the team to scope, prioritise, and deliver projects and initiatives.
- Work across both single and cross-function projects / assignments.
- Assist in Project Management, Product Ownership, establishing Innovation Framework, innovation templates and Governance
About you and your skills
- 5+ years in Senior Business Analyst or Delivery Lead roles
- Successful planning and delivery of projects involving multiple functional areas and technologies.
- Experience in managing relationships with business stakeholders and teams.
- Translation of business strategies / needs into IT solutions.
- Strong experience in the development of business cases, technology roadmaps, Agile methods, and innovation frameworks
- Ability to develop and deliver market research, tech research and project relevant content for stakeholders.
- Values specialist expertise and capitalises on the knowledge and skills of others within the team and broader organisation.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and effectively communicate key priorities to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong Leadership skills
Good things you'll need:
- Tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline preferred.
- Expertise in applicable business processes and applications
- Ability to understand business and IT strategy, environment, and trends across multiple functions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Ability to lead and manage a large functional area.
- Understand the benefits of data science, machine learning and AI.
- Broad technical skills and knowledge in best practices
- Project management, business analysis and systems development methodologies
- Formal Business Analysis accreditation (desirable but not mandatory)
We're ideally seeking an individual who thrives under pressure and challenging environments. This role is heavy on stakeholder engagement across business and technical teams and will involve some level of ambiguity and hence, a flexible and positive approach is preferable.
Skills and experience in Whiteboarding tools, JIRA, Confluence, Atlassian, AI, Machine language and Data Science will be highly looked upon, however, are not mandatory.
