Job Summary
Wolters Kluwer is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager in Sydney to drive the growth of CCH Tagetik in Australia. At CCH Tagetik, one of our many differentiators is understanding the needs and requirements of the Office of the CFO and that starts with the Senior Business Development Manager. CCH Tagetik Sales portrays the image of our company and therefore must be the trusted advisor to convey knowledge and credibility in their interactions with prospects.
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible to put CCH Tagetik on the map in Australia, driving growth and meeting/beating financial objectives delivering Corporate Performance Management solutions to prospective customers. You will be responsible and accountable for building an effective sales deployment strategy, executing, and achieving annual sales targets/quotas.
Travel: Approximately 30% travel mainly across ANZ
Responsibilities
- Meet with prospective customers to provide leadership, industry, and company expertise to instill confidence and drive strategic sales results.
- Proactively engage with strategic prospective clients to develop close relationships, understand their needs and provide them with a relevant, targeted solution
- Analyse and identify opportunities by researching target industries, competitors and market trends
- Close new software license and associated professional services business to meet or exceed assigned goals. A clear track record of outperformance executing similar responsibilities for a software and services provider to the enterprise industry is required for this position.
- Define the sales strategy for each deal, coordinating the extended sales team that includes pre-sales and professional services to own and facilitate all aspects of a complex enterprise sales cycle. The position is responsible for successful execution of the plan from lead follow up through contract negotiation and deal closure.
- Leveraging your industry knowledge and competitive intelligence to provide product enhancement and improvement ideas
- Respond to tenders, RFIs and RFPs, coordinating with CCH Tagetik HQ as required.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; growing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Preparing presentations, proposals and contracts and manage senior client executive relationships
- Accurately manage sales forecast and pipeline using Salesforce
- Participate in seminars, road shows, sales conferences, and other events
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
- At least 5+ years of experience selling corporate software
- Knowledge of any of the following CPM Applications: CCH Tagetik, Oracle: Hyperion (Financial Management/ HFM, Planning, Essbase), FCCS, PBCS, SAP: SAP BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), IBM: IBM Planning Analytics (Cognos TM1), IBM Cognos Controller Others: OneStream, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Board, Jedox or other CPM & BI solutions
- Strong knowledge or background in finance and accounting related topics; such as consolidation, planning, reporting, compliance and IFRS16. Exposure to ESG reporting and Supply Chain Planning/ S&OP would be a plus
- Previous experience in implementation or pre-sales is a plus
- Solution selling and consultative sales approach and ability to navigate complex selling environments
- Ability to understand, analyse and articulate complex customer needs and craft appropriate messaging and solutions to secure their business.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, networking, and organizational skills and strong collaboration and networking skills
- Must be well-organized - successfully implement strategies and ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and remain focused
- Sound business judgment and flexibility to manage unexpected changes in business conditions and customer requirements; ability to make challenging decisions around prioritization
- Metrics driven; highly disciplined process orientation
- Advanced sales pipeline and forecasting ability with significant Salesforce experience
- Ability to operate at both a strategic/conceptual level and at a detailed, operational level
- An appetite to work within an evolving software solution business as part of a huge multinational organisation with many development opportunities
