Your new company 

Our client is a large government entity that provides financial services to South Australian public sector workers. Looking to recruit a Senior Business Support Officer to their team, they are offering a six-month contract position with an opportunity for extension.  The role is responsible for the provision of proactive and responsive financial, procurement and administration support to the Finance and Procurement teams.

Your new role 

• Accounts payable processing and approval of  invoices
• Reviewing the General Ledger to ensure Revenue and Expenses have been coded and captured correctly, and identifying errors
• Creating journals to fix expense and revenue coding errors 
• Using intermediate to advanced Excel functions to reconcile and report financial data (including, but not limited to; vlookup, pivot tables, sorting, filtering, data validation, slice and dice etc)
• Assisting the Finance team in general accounting duties
• Providing Procurement support to the Procurement Team. Including maintaining a procurement and contract register, keeping all details updated such as costs and contract details
• Maintaining physical and electronic records using Objective and specific filing protocols
• Maintaining administrative systems, processes and procedures 

What you'll need to succeed 

The successful candidate will have experience using Basware, knowledge of Accounts Payable processing in a government setting and an understanding and general knowledge of accounting. A current National Police Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.
