The Opportunity
We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Business/Finance Manager to join our team and provide support to one of our business units, which is responsible for delivering a wide range of complex development and engineering programs to our defence customers. These programs include our renowned Battlespace Communications System, the Wakulda Air Battle Management System, and Defence Services.
This leadership position will manage the finance, contracts and other commercial activities to maximise business unit performance and resources. This position has oversight and responsibility for all Business Management activities including execution of program and business unit requirements and support to new business opportunities.
This role is based in Brisbane.
As the Senior Business / Finance Manager you will:
- Be a key member of the Finance and Business Unit leadership teams, contributing to the development of strategic goals and objectives and leading key initiatives.
- Lead, manage and develop business unit finance and contracts staff.
- Manage all commercial and business matters for the business unit focused on meeting customer and company requirements.
- Facilitate effective business management practices by monitoring the quality and timeliness of financial and management reporting and contracting and negotiating processes.
- Effective plan and manage business activities oversight and review of program budgets/forecasts, schedules, and Earned Value Management
To be considered for the role you will have:
- A graduate or post graduate degree in finance, accounting, law or similar, or at least 10 years relevant experience.
- Previous experience managing and resolving complex business management issues including financial and contractual matters.
- Defence Industry experience
- Be outcomes focused and demonstrate strong values-based leadership.
- Strong collaboration and team building focus.
