The Role
We have two permanent Senior Care Service Coordinator vacancies within the Catastrophic Injuries Support Team (CIS), who work directly with participants who have been catastrophically injured, their families and support teams.
The Catastrophic Injuries Support Scheme coordinate and fund lifetime treatment, care and support to participants catastrophically injured in a either a motor vehicle accident in Western Australia, or from 1 July 2024, a workplace accident.
Catastrophic injuries include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, multiple amputations, severe burns and permanent traumatic blindness.
The successful applicant will collaborate with key stakeholders to determine and implement rehabilitation programs, injury recovery goals, return to work/home arrangements and ongoing support needs. Our goal is to improve the quality of life and independence outcomes for those who have experienced life-changing injuries from a catastrophic accident.
A competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant commensurate with skills and experience.
The Person
In addition to a tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Registered Nursing or similar discipline, and current registration with the relevant professional body, have the capability to:
- independently assess, coordinate and monitor the highly complex needs of people with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury or other catastrophic injuries;
- use well developed and effective verbal and written communication, negotiation and influencing skills to provide a high level of customer service;
- apply effective case management/coordination strategies to assist people with catastrophic injuries;
- apply extensive clinical knowledge to manage a broad range of stakeholders;
- apply coaching, mentoring and teaching principles in the sharing of current evidence based practice with peers, colleagues and personnel within the division to support ongoing learning and development of others; and
- think flexibly with a desire for service delivery innovation.
Training, coaching and mentoring will be provided.
A current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) is a requirement of this position.
