The Opportunity
We have an opportunity available for Senior Category Manager to join our Procurement team in Melbourne. Within this role you will manage the sourcing and category management activities for our business with a focus on IT third party suppliers.
To do this successfully you will:
- Play an active role in the AIA Australia Procurement function
- Generate and operate sourcing and category management strategies
- Lead and implement risk-based strategic sourcing approaches to procurement
- Perform RFP, RFI and RFQ while optimising purchasing power with preferred external IT suppliers
- Negotiate pricing terms and conditions with prospective suppliers and partners
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with internal collaborators including information technology, the management reporting team in finance, PMO and Risk
- Ensure all purchasing and procurement activities are carried out in accordance with AIAA policies
- Maintain contract database (including contract renewal) in a timely and accurate manner
- Implement a culture of continuous improvement and pro-actively resolve emerging issues with external suppliers and internal collaborators.
Successful applications will demonstrate:
- Previous experience working within a procurement role, specifically handling IT suppliers
- Experience in implementing strategic sourcing within a large corporate business through the use of business tenders
- Exceptional senior management engagement and the ability to influence internal partners
- Sophisticated leadership, organisational and planning skills
- Strong judgement to make critical decisions and achieve outcomes within deadlines
- Excellent negotiation skills validated by a strong history of driving successful commercial outcomes for business
- A strong understanding of procure to pay systems, contract management databases, procurement portals and tracking procurement savings
- Experience leading and motivating change initiatives
