AbSec – NSW Child, Family and Community Peak Aboriginal Corporation is the peak organisation for Aboriginal children, young people and families in NSW. We provide an Aboriginal perspective on child protection and out-of-home care policy to the NSW Government and support Aboriginal-led organisations deliver effective services for Aboriginal children, young people and families. We are a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation, governed by an all-Aboriginal board.

THE OPPORTUNITY

AbSec and the Benevolent Society are excited to announce the growth and expansion of its Carer Support Program. Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of Aboriginal children and their carers in NSW? 

AbSec is seeking an experienced Senior Client Support Officer to join the Carer Support team. 

Key responsibilities:

• Planning, coordinating and implementing comprehensive support for Aboriginal Carers, children, families and communities
• build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, service providers and carers to offer fit-for-purpose and culturally safe support services to Aboriginal carers and their families

Benefits:

• Full-time 12 month fixed term employment (with a possibility for extension), based in Marrickville
• Salary: SCHADS Level 4 - $90,000 per annum (commensurate with skills and experience) plus Superannuation and generous not-for-profit salary packaging option 
• Hybrid work arrangement in a supportive and friendly work environment
