About the role:
The Queensland/NT Infrastructure region currently has a requirement for a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function and oversee commercial activities for major tenders and all infrastructure projects currently in delivery. John Holland has secured a number of projects in the first quarter of 2024 and will continue pursuing a healthy pipeline of projects across Water, Dams, Roads, and other significant infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of commercial professionals
- Work closely with the broader infrastructure division to implement work winning commercial strategies
- Review Tender contractual provisions and prepare Contract Risk Assessment - issue and present to Pre-Tender Team
- Review terms, conditions and risks of proposed client novated consultants and/or subcontractors
- Daily advice to site teams about contractual issues and implementation of documents e.g. subcontract conditions, SOPA, EOT, scope of works, contract interpretation, variations, claims, defects etc.
- Manage adjudication claims and responses
- Mentoring of Site Contracts Staff in regards to contractual issues and strategies etc.
- Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Law or Engineering
- Relevant industry experience, leading commercial functions for business units and/or complex infrastructure projects
- Strong leadership and management qualities that resonates with team and driving performance
- Strong communication skills, excellent verbale and written
- Post-graduate qualifications desirable
