The Community Facilities Management team operates across four local areas, facilitating bookings, administration, operational and community development tasks. This position will be located within the Southwest local area of Casey, and includes Cranbourne West Community Hub, various family and community centres and public halls. There is a requirement to travel across facilities.

A bit about the role
As a Senior Community Facilities Officer, you will be working in busy community centres with a focus on community development principles that will engage and empower local residents to connect, learn, play and belong. Your experience in developing partnerships with community service organisations, community groups and local businesses will strengthen key support services to the community. As a leader you will focus on coaching and mentoring staff and volunteers. You will work within a team to oversee the operational aspects of various community centres within the municipality.

What you’ll bring
- An understanding of community development principles, gained through formal education or work experience.
- Experience providing direction, mentorship, leadership and supervision to staff. Through shared leadership maximise professional growth and effective service delivery.
- Have experience in overseeing the effective delivery of operational, administrative and customer service functions.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
- Experience driving social media and digital platforms.
- Experience working in a community centre highly regarded.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
