We are seeking a highly skilled professional to play a pivotal role in our dynamic organization. This role will be based onsite at one of our Victorian Big Build Projects in South Geelong. This position is a full-time role.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Effectively manage Subcontractors, ensuring timely and efficient commercial processes. Oversee subcontract accounts and commercial performance, ensuring compliance with Security of Payments Legislation. Procure, execute, deliver, and close out subcontracts, supply, and services contracts according to Commercial policies and guidelines. Assist Alliance Delivery team in monthly cost accruals, reporting, and forecasting, incorporating Risk/Opportunity positions. Support Contracts Manager team in negotiations, variation, and claims assessment, proactively avoiding disputes. Aid in the preparation and evaluation of Authority for Expenditure submissions, especially those related to variations and additional scope. Identify, price, and negotiate variations to the Contract. Assist in the preparation of monthly commercial reports. Communicate and ensure understanding of head contract and subcontract obligations by the site team. Maintain registers of variations, extension of time claims, and notifications. Liaise effectively with site engineers and supervisors to capture relevant information on variations and extension of time claims and collaborate seamlessly with other team members. About You: Tertiary qualification in Contract Law, Finance, Quantity Surveying, Construction or business Administration 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction or engineering. Proven ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and managing stakeholder expectations. Outcome-focused, hands-on, and operationally driven with strong technical capability. Self-motivated with excellent planning skills and attention to detail. Experience in developing, analysing, and reporting on complex project performance. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Developed analytical and influencing skills. Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Demonstrated ability to analyse contractual/legal issues and provide solutions. Knowledge of tendering, procurement processes, and subcontract principles.
